RESOLUTION NO. 32 OF 2013
Naming of the Public Safety Building
Mid-Block Crossing
WHEREAS, the City has constructed a new Public Safety Building located at 475 South 300 East; and
WHEREAS, to provide a sense of inclusion and ownership, and to build community excitement and awareness about the new building, the City invited members of the community to enter a contest to name the adjacent mid-block pedestrian crossing; and
WHEREAS, the City conducted a thorough public campaign and received many quality submissions; and
WHEREAS, the Naming Selection Committee recommends that the mid-block pedestrian crossing be named the “People’s Way;” and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to validate the name selected.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah as follows:
1. The mid-block crossing located approximately between 400 and 500 South, and 300 East and Blair Street (357 East), adjacent to the Public Safety Building, shall be named the “People’s Way.”
2. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
