RESOLUTION NO 31 OF 2018
(Ratifying a list of Justice Court Judges to serve as Temporary Justice Court Judges)
WHEREAS, Utah Code Section 78A-7-208 provides that when necessary, the governing body may appoint any senior justice court judge, or justice court judge currently holding office within the judicial district or in an adjacent county; and
WHEREAS, the Salt Lake City Justice Court has submitted a list of qualifying Justice Court Judges to the Mayor of Salt Lake City and the Mayor has submitted that list to the City Council for ratification as temporary justice court judges for ratification; and
WHEREAS, The City Council finds that ratification of the list of temporary justice court judges facilitates the operation of the Salt Lake City Justice Court and furthers the general welfare of the citizens of Salt Lake City;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Salt Lake City Council:
SECTION 1. That the following list of Senior Justice Court Judges and qualifying Justice Court Judges be ratified as temporary Justice Court Judges for the Salt Lake City Justice Court be, and is hereby ratified:
SECTION 2. That this resolution shall take effect upon adoption.
