RESOLUTION 17 of 2017
RESOLUTION EXTENDING
INVITATION TO
THE NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES FOR 2021 CITY
SUMMIT
Whereas, the National League of Cities has for more than 90 years advocated for and strengthened the 19,000 cities, villages and towns it represents throughout the country; and
Whereas, the National League of Cities serves as a forum for leaders from the largest cities to the smallest towns, and helps build better communities; and
Whereas, the National League of Cities’ mission is to strengthen and promote cities as centers of opportunity, leadership and governance; and
WHEREAS, the National League of Cities’ City Summit is the largest gathering of local elected officials and staff in the country, providing opportunities to increase the effectiveness of the more than 3,500 local leader attendees; and
WHEREAS, Salt Lake City shares the National League of Cities’ values and is nationally recognized for job creation, inclusion, quality of life and its natural beauty; and
Whereas, Salt Lake City would be honored to host elected officials from throughout the country and showcase what makes our beautiful city a great place to live, work and play.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED
that the Salt Lake City
Council hereby extends an invitation to the National League of Cities and its
members to Salt Lake City for the November 2021 City Summit.
