The following summary of actions by the Planning Commission is being provided to you for information purposes only. No action by the Administration or Council is required at this time.
Petition: 400-02-42 Council District: 3 Request: Salt Lake Planning Commission requested to rezone the properties at 238 West 600 North and 250 West 600 North from Moderate Density Multi-Family (RMF-35) to Special Development Pattern Residential (SR-1) and to amend the Capitol Hill Community Master Plan to reflect the proposed zoning.
Planning Commission’s Decision: The Planning Commission passed a motion to forward a favorable recommendation to the City Council to approve the said rezone and Master Plan amendment.

Planning Commission’s Decision: The Planning Commission passed a motion to forward a favorable recommendation to the City Council to approve the said rezoning on all subject properties.
Petition: 400-04-43 Council District: 2 Request: Menlo Associates, LLC requested that the City close and declare as surplus property a section (66 feet by 627 feet) of unimproved public street right-of-way known as 300 South between 5200 West and approximately 5100 West, and sell that portion of 300 South to Menlo Associates as the abutting property owner.
Planning Commission’s Decision: The Planning Commission passed a motion to forward a favorable recommendation to the City Council to approve the said closure, declaration of surplus property and sell the said section of unimproved public street right-of-way.
Petition: 400-04-50 Council District: 4 Request: Salt Lake City Redevelopment Agency requested approval of the TRAX light rail station design proposed for the North/South light rail corridor on 200 West between 800 and 900 South.
Planning Commission’s Decision: The Planning Commission passed a motion to forward a favorable recommendation to the City Council to approve the said design.
Petitions: 410-701 Council District: 4 Request: Salt Lake County Administration requested final design approval of the Salt Palace expansion for the loading docks on 100 South, parking structure entrance and exit locations on 100 South and 300 West, and the design of the 300 West façade.
Planning Commission’s Decision: The Planning Commission passed a motion to approve the said final site plan.
Petition: 400-04-45 Council District: 3 Request: Mayor Anderson requested to change the 500 North closure at 500 West from a partial closure to a full closure and to remove the condition to provide crash gates.
Planning Commission’s Decision: The Planning Commission passed a motion to approve full closure of said street and to rescind the condition to require crash gates, with a further recommendation that fencing is not installed.
Petition: 410-712 Council District: 4 Request: Victor Kimball requested conditional use approval to allow the construction of a car-rental agency at 835-841 South State Street in a Downtown Support District (D-2).
Planning Commission’s Decision: The Planning Commission passed a motion to approve the said conditional use with conditions.
