YESCO, LLC Pole Sign Variance at approximately 165 S West Temple - YESCO, LLC (Applicant), representing Dennis O’Brien (Property Owner), is requesting a variance to allow the construction of a pole sign on property without street frontage. The subject property is located at 165 S West Temple in the D-1 Central Business District. There is an existing pole sign located on the property. Visibility to the existing sign has been blocked due to recent construction, so the Applicant is proposing to construct a new sign in a different location. According to Section 21A.46.110A of the Salt Lake City Zoning Ordinance, pole signs are permitted only on property with frontage along a street within the D-1 zoning district. The subject property is located in the interior of the block and has no street frontage; therefore, a new pole sign is not allowed on the property according the Salt Lake City Zoning Ordinance.
