RECORD OF DECISION

451 S State Street, Room 326

September 13, 2018

5:00 p.m.

1.     Appeal of an Administrative Decision at approximately 775 W North Temple - Reagan Outdoor Advertising (ROA) represented by Guy Larson, is appealing an Administrative Decision to deny a permit to construct a new billboard at approximately 775 W North Temple. The decision was regarding a request from ROA to use billboard credits from their North Temple Billboard Bank to construct a new billboard on the subject property. The Zoning Administrator determined a permit could not be issued for construction of a new sign because ROA has insufficient billboard credits in their North Temple Billboard Bank. The subject property is located in the TSA-UN-C (Transit Station Area–Urban Neighborhood–Core) zoning district within Council District 2, represented by Andrew Johnston. Decision Upheld

2.     Appeal of an Administrative Decision at approximately 775 E 400 South - Reagan Outdoor Advertising (ROA) represented by Guy Larson, is appealing an Administrative Decision to deny a permit to construct a new billboard at the above listed property. The decision was regarding whether or not ROA can use billboard credits from their 400 South Special Gateway Billboard Bank to construct a new billboard in the same Special Gateway area which is located on 400 South from 200 East to 800 East. The billboard credits are from removal of a billboard located on a parcel zoned D-1 (Central Business District) and the proposed new billboard is on a parcel zoned TSA-UN-T (Transit Station Area–Urban Neighborhood–Transition). In accordance with section 21A.46.160 of the Salt Lake City Municipal Code, the Zoning Administrator determined a permit could not be issued for construction of a new sign because the TSA-UN-T zoning district is more restrictive than the D-1 zoning district. The subject property is located within Council District 4, represented by Derek Kitchen. (Staff contact: Amy Thompson at amy.thompson@slcgov.com or 801-535-7281) Petition Number PLNAPP2018-00278
