SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE

No. 40 of 2018

 

(Amending Article 5 (Wages), Appendix A (Wage Schedule), and Appendix B of the Memorandum of Understanding between Salt Lake City Corporation and the Salt Lake Police Association, representing eligible employees)

 

              An ordinance amending Article 5 (Wages), Appendix A (Wage Schedule), and Appendix B of the Memorandum of Understanding dated effective July 2, 2017 between Salt Lake City Corporation and the Salt Lake Police Association, representing eligible employees.

              WHEREAS, the City Council, in Salt Lake City Ordinance No. 35 of 2017, approved a Memorandum of Understanding between Salt Lake City Corporation and the Salt Lake Police Association, as the certified bargaining representative for eligible employees; and

              WHEREAS, the Memorandum of Understanding is subject to appropriation of funds by the City Council; and

              WHEREAS, Article 5 (Wages), Appendix A (Wage Schedule), and Appendix B (which has now been merged with Appendix A) of the Memorandum of Understanding need to be updated to reflect the outcome of wage negotiations for Fiscal Year 2019.

              Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:

              SECTION 1.  PURPOSE.  The purpose of this ordinance is to amend Article 5 ( Wages), Appendix A (Wage Schedule), and Appendix B of the Memorandum of Understanding between Salt Lake City Corporation and the Salt Lake Police Association approved by the City Council in Salt Lake City Ordinance No. 35 of 2017 to reflect the outcome of wage negotiations for Fiscal Year 2019.

SECTION 2.  AUTHORIZATION.  The Mayor of Salt Lake City, Utah is hereby authorized to act in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Memorandum of Understanding between the City and the Salt Lake Police Association, as amended by the attached.

SECTION 3.  EFFECTIVE DATE.  This ordinance shall be deemed effective on July 1, 2018.

              Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, this 14th day of August, 2018.
