SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE
No. 10 of 2018
(Amending the Zoning Map to establish the
Yalecrest – Douglas Park – I Local Historic District)
An ordinance amending the Zoning Map to establish the Yalecrest – Douglas Park – I Local Historic District pursuant to Petition No. PLNPCM2017-00302.
WHEREAS, Marguerite Henderson (“Applicant”) submitted an application (Petition No. PLNHLC2017-00302) in accordance with Salt Lake City Code Section 21A.34.020.C to amend the City’s zoning map to apply the H Historic Preservation Overlay District to properties located on Hubbard Avenue between 1500 East Street and Fairview Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the Salt Lake City Historic Landmark Commission held a public hearing on October 5, 2017 on said application; and
WHEREAS, at its October 5, 2017 meeting, the historic landmark commission voted in favor of forwarding a positive recommendation to the Salt Lake City Planning Commission and Salt Lake City Council on said application; and
WHEREAS, the Salt Lake City Planning Commission held a public hearing on October 25, 2017 on said application; and
WHEREAS, at its October 25, 2017 meeting, the planning commission voted in favor of forwarding a positive recommendation to the Salt Lake City Council on said application; and
WHEREAS, after a public hearing on this matter the city council has determined that adopting this ordinance is in the city’s best interests.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. Amending the Zoning Map. The Salt Lake City zoning map, as adopted by the Salt Lake City Code, relating to the fixing of boundaries and zoning districts, shall be and hereby is amended to apply the H Historic Preservation Overlay District to all buildings, structures and real property within the boundaries described and depicted on Exhibit “A”. The areas described and depicted on Exhibit “A” shall be known as the Yalecrest – Douglas Park – I Local Historic District.
SECTION 2. Effective Date. This ordinance shall become effective on the date of its first publication.
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, this 3rd day of April, 2018.
