SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE

No. 18 of 1995

 

(Adopting Sugar House Business District Strategies and Recommendations Plan)

AN ORDINANCE PURSUANT TO SECTIONS 10-9-303 AND 304, UTAH CODE ANNOTATED, 1953 ADOPTING THE SUGAR HOUSE BUSINESS DISTRICT STRATEGIES AND RECOMMENDATIONS PLAN.

WHEREAS, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah has held public hearings before its own body and before the Planning Commission and believes it appropriate to adopt the Sugar House Business District Strategies and Recommendations Plan.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:

SECTION 1. That the Sugar House Business District Strategies and Recommendations Plan recommended for adoption by the Salt Lake City Planning Commission on November 3, 1994 is hereby adopted, subject to the amendment specified below, pursuant to Sections 10-9-303 and 304, Utah Code Annotated, 1953 as amended, as part of the City’s Comprehensive Plan supplementing the 1985 Sugar House Community Master Plan and the 1986 Sugar House Neighborhood Development Plan. The Plan as approved by the Planning Commission is hereby amended to permit a maximum ten-story commercial/office building on Block 206 only as a conditional use and requiring appropriate step backs necessary to preserve street fronts along Highland Drive, 2100 South and Sugarmont Street, subject to suitable accommodations for parking. The City Recorder is hereby directed to retain a certified copy of the Sugar House Business District Strategies and Recommendations Plan which is hereby incorporated by reference.

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its first publication.
