THE CITY COUNCIL OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, MET IN REGULAR SESSION ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 6, 1983, AT 5:00 P.M. IN ROOM 211 CITY AND COUNTY BUILDING.
ON ROLL CALL THE FOLLOWING COUNCIL MEMBERS WERE PRESENT: RONALD J. WHITEHEAD IONE M. DAVIS ALICE SHEARER EDWARD W. PARKER.
Mayor Ted L. Wilson was present at the meeting.
Councilmembers Mabey, Fonnesbeck, and DePaulis were absent from the meeting.
Council Vice Chairman Edward Parker presided at and conducted the meeting.
COUNCIL BUSINESS
#1. RE: Convening of the City Council and Mayor as the Board of Canvassers to instruct the City Recorder to begin the canvass of the primary election returns for the election held October 4, 1983.
Councilmember Shearer moved and Councilmember Whitehead seconded to instruct the City Recorder to begin the canvass of the primary election returns for the election held October 4, 1983, and to recess until October 18, 1983, at which time the Council and Mayor will reconvene as the Board of Canvassers to approve the canvass, which motion carried, all members present voting aye.

#2. RE: Set a date for a public hearing to discuss Petition No. 1200-05 of 1983 submitted by Donald R. LeBaron requesting that 2200 West between North Temple and 700 North be renamed Sperry Boulevard.
Councilmember Shearer moved and Councilmember Whitehead seconded to schedule a public hearing for Tuesday, November 15, 1983, at 7:00 p.m. to discuss Petition 1200-05 of 1983, which motion carried, all members present voting aye.
