DISCUSSION

TRIAD PROJECT

Howard Marsh and Rich Nordlund discussed changes in the Triad project. The proposed changes include moving the parking structure and the 20-story office building behind the Devereaux House. Burke Cartwright, architect for Edwards and Daniels, discussed the changes and what could be done to improve the appearance of the parking structure as a backdrop to the Devereaux.  Councilmember Mabey asked about the use of different materials to build the parking structure.

Councilmember Fonnesbeck asked about whether light pollution would be caused by changes in the position of the buildings.  Mr. Marsh indicated that Triad is asking the Council to determine whether the changes in the position of the buildings is an amendment to the conceptual master plan.  Councilmember Davis asked if the Council would see future plans and changes. Mr. Nordlund and Mr. Marsh said the Council would see future revisions.

Councilmember Fonnesbeck moved and Councilmember Whitehead seconded to approve the updated site plan of Phase I of the Triad Project and find that the proposed changes are not amendments to the conceptual master plan thereby eliminating the necessity of a noticed public hearing and that such finding does not constitute a precedent, each change in Triad site plans would have to be considered individually to determine if they are amendments to the master plan, which motion carried, all members present voting aye.

The meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
