The City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah met in Regular Session on Thursday, April 3, 1997, at 4:30 p.m., in Room 315, City County Building, 451 South State Street.
The following Council Members were present:

Bryce Jolley Keith Christensen
The following Council Members had resigned:
Sam Souvall Stuart Reid
Mayor Deedee Corradini; Cindy Gust-Jenson, Executive Council Director; and Chris Meeker, Chief Deputy City Recorder were present.
Council Chair Seed presided at and conducted the meeting.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
#1. RE: Consider adopting a motion establishing the list of candidates to be interviewed for Council seats in Districts 1 and 3; confirming the Council's votes in favor of interviewing the finalists as follow: District 1 - Lee Martinez, Carlton J. Christensen, Carol A. Goode, Elaine Rizzo-Pea, and Ronald Whitehead; District 3 - Phillip Carrol, Phil Erickson, Thomas Rogan, Mary H. Mark, John Florez, Bob Springmeyer, Ted Wilson, and Polly S. Hart; and thus declining final interviews for the remaining 26 applicants.
ACTION: Councilmember Christensen moved and Councilmember Jolley seconded to adopt the motion, which motion carried, all members present voted aye.

The District 3 interviews were held in the Committee of the Whole at this point.
At 6:45 p.m. Councilmember Godfrey moved and Councilmember Jolley seconded to enter into Executive Session, which motion carried, all members present voted aye.
At 6:50 p.m. Councilmember Christensen moved and Councilmember Jolley seconded to end Executive Session, which motion carried, all members present voted aye.
The District 1 interviews were held in the Committee of the Whole at this point.
#2. Motions
Adopting a motion selecting Mary H. Mark as the Councilmember from District 3.
ACTION: Councilmember Christensen moved and Councilmember Milner seconded to adopt the motion, which motion carried, all members present voted aye.
Adopting a motion selecting Lee Martinez as the Councilmember from District 1.
ACTION: Councilmember Christensen moved and Councilmember Milner seconded to adopt the motion, which motion carried, all members present voted aye.
Adopting a motion setting the induction ceremony date of Tuesday, April 8 at 6:00 p.m. for the representatives of Council Districts 1 and 3.
ACTION: Councilmember Christensen moved and Councilmember Milner seconded to adopt the motion, which motion carried, all members present voted aye.
