D.          CONSENT AGENDA

 

1.    Set a date for a non-advertised public hearing on Tuesday, March 12, 1985 at 8:30 p.m. to discuss Petition No. 400-246 submitted by the Granite Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints requesting the vacation of an alley located west of the Nibley Park Ward at 2450 South 600 East.

                  Staff Recommendation:         Set date.

 

2.    Set a date for a public hearing on Tuesday, April 9, 1985 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss Petition No. 400-202 submitted by the Northwest Community Council requesting vacation of a 15’ alley which runs east from 1200 West at approximately 470 North.

3.    Consider and adopt a resolution authorizing execution of an interlocal cooperation agreement between Salt Lake City Corporation and the Utah Department of Transportation to allow Salt Lake City to receive partial reimbursement from Federal Highway Administration 402 Safety Funds for the purchase of safety equipment.

4.    Consider and adopt an ordinance amending the Traffic Code of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, as amended, by adding new Article 24 relating to child passenger safety.

5.    Consider and adopt a resolution authorizing the execution of an interlocal cooperation agreement between Salt Lake City Corporation and Utah Department of Transportation providing that after completion of construction of I-80 between Saltair and Redwood Road, the frontage road on the north side of I-80 from just west of 5600 West to 7200 West will be made 2-way, and signs, markings, and railroad crossings will be changed accordingly; when this is done, Salt Lake City will accept jurisdiction of this frontage road.

6.    Set a date for a public hearing on Tuesday, March 12, 1985 at 8:15 p.m. to discuss Petition No. 400-263 submitted by Motel, Hotel Sales and Management requesting that the “C-1” zoning on the north side of North Temple and the west side of Redwood Road be extended north an additional 154 feet to allow for the construction of a 150 room “Embassy Suite” hotel/motel with it accompanying auxiliary uses and a free-standing restaurant.

7.    Set a date for a public hearing on Tuesday, March 12, 1985 at 8:00 p.m. to discuss Petition No. 400-265 submitted by Gulfstream Properties by Gregg Revell requesting the rezoning of certain properties lying north of the commercial zone at 1836 West North Temple from a Residential “R-6” to Commercial “C-1” classification to make possible the construction of a motel/hotel type development.

                  Staff Recommendation:         Set date.

 

8.    Consider and adopt a resolution authorizing the execution of an interlocal cooperation agreement between Salt Lake City Corporation and Utah Department of Community and Economic Development for a $36,000 grant from the Utah Department of Community and Economic Development to the Shelter in Salt Lake City. The funds will be sent to the Mayor’s Office to be disbursed upon the Mayor’s signature on the contract.

E.          PUBLIC HEARINGS

 

1.    6:30 p.m. - Consider and discuss Petition No. 400-173 submitted by Cynthia R. Adams et al., requesting vacation of an alley located between 900 East and 1000 East and Forest View Avenue and 2700 South in Salt Lake City, and adopt the ordinance relating thereto.

2.    6:45 p.m. - Consider and adopt an ordinance amending Chapter 2 of Title 51 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, as amended, by adding new Sections 51-2-13.1 and 51-2-15.6 relating to definitions; and consider and adopt an ordinance amending Chapter 12A of Title 51 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, as amended, by amending Section 51-12A-1 and 51-12A-2 and adding new Sections 51-12A-3 and 51-12A-4, relating to the Foothill Development Overlay Zone.

3.    7:15 p.m. - Consider and discuss Petition No. 400-237 submitted by The Boyer Company requesting closure of portions of certain public streets located at approximately 1900 West between North Temple and 300 North consisting of Winifred Street, Gertie Avenue, Lorenzo Street, Buckeye Avenue and 300 North Street and vacating an associated alley, and requiring certain conditions, and adopt the ordinance relating thereto.

4.    7:30 p.m. - Consider and discuss amending the Fiscal Year 1984-1985 budget for Salt Lake City.

5.    8:00 p.m. - Solicit citizen input regarding Salt Lake City’s housing and community development needs, relating to consideration of allocation of 11th Year Community Development Block Grant funds.

F.          NEW COUNCIL BUSINESS

 

1.    Consider and approve the appointment of LaVone Liddle Gamonal as the Planning Commission representative to the Historical Landmark Committee.

                  Staff Recommendation:         Suspend rules, Approve.

 

2.    Consider and adopt a resolution outlining the relationship of Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County to the City and County Building and expressing continued conceptual and financial support for the restoration and preservation of the Salt Lake City and County Building.

                  Staff Recommendation:         Adopt.

 

G.          UNFINISHED COUNCIL BUSINESS

 

1.    Consider and adopt an amendment to an Ordinance adopted on February 5, 1985 closing a 15’ alley at approximately 920 South from 800 to 900 West Street as requested by JoAnn Milner et al. in Petition 400-144.
