D.          CONSENT AGENDA

 

1.    Consider and adopt an ordinance rezoning an area at approximately 700 South to 1300 South and 4400 West to 4800 West from “A-l” to M-lA” pursuant to Petition No. 400-281 submitted by George Condas.

2.    Consider and adopt an ordinance vacating an alley between Parkway and Stratford Avenue and Douglas and 1300 East Streets, in Salt Lake City, Utah pursuant to Petition No. 400-332 submitted by John G. Meador - et al.

3.    Consider and adopt a resolution authorizing the execution of an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement between Salt Lake City Corporation and Westminster College providing for lease by Westminster College of certain premises situated in Salt Lake City, Utah, for a period of five years.

4.    Set a date for a public hearing to be held Tuesday, December 10, 1985 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss Petition No. 400-363 submitted by Hermes Associates requesting the rezoning of property located between 400 and 500 South and 400 East and 600 East from Residential “R-7”, Business “B-3” and Commercial “C-1” to a “C-3A” Commercial classification.

5.    Set a date for a non-advertised public hearing on Tuesday, January 7, 1986 at 6:40 p.m. to discuss Petition No. 295 of 1980 submitted by LDS Church et. al, requesting the vacation of two public alleys and one public road easement in Blocks 179 and 186 of Plat D in the vicinity of the old Veterans Hospital site, l2th-l4th Avenues between C and D Streets.

6.    Set a date for a public hearing to be held Tuesday, January 14, 1986 at 6:45 p.m. to discuss Petition No. 400-206-79 resubmitted by the Salt Lake Board of Education requesting the City to vacate 200 North Street for 530 feet east of 300 West Street.

7.    Set a date for a public hearing to be held Tuesday, December 10, 1985 at 6:45 p.m. to discuss amending the “C-3A” zone by limiting the height of buildings allowed in the zone to 12 stories.

F.          UNFINISHED COUNCIL BUSINESS

 

1.    Consider and adopt Petition No. 400-283 submitted by A.Z. Richards, Jr. requesting Salt Lake City rezone property located between 7th and 9th South and Gladiola Street at approximately 2640 West from an Agricultural “A-1” to an Industrial “M-lA” classification.

                  Recommendation:         Postpone action for three

                                                months.

 

2.    Consider and adopt Petition No. 400-277(Garfield Area) submitted by the Sugar House Community Council requesting the rezoning of the area between Westminster College and 2100 South Street and 1000 East and 1300 East Streets.

                  Recommendation:         Adopt.

 

3.    Consider and approve a resolution to enter into a lease with the Salt Lake City Development Corporation and a corresponding sublease to the Housing Authority of Salt Lake City, each with respect to housing for the elderly of low- and moderate-income in Salt Lake City. The proposed lease and sublease would obligate the city to maintain a debt service reserve fund against any potential draws for debt service because of project shortfalls. The lease and sublease would be executed by the city only upon the final positive resolution of judicial proceedings concerning all bonding documents, with such changes as the Mayor might approve.

G.          PUBLIC HEARINGS

 

1.    Obtain public comment concerning the creation of a Special Improvement District to be known as Salt Lake City Lighting District No. 3, to operate, maintain, patrol, and power lighting improvements within the District and to levy special taxes as provided in Chapter 15, Title 10, Utah Code Annotated (1953), as amended, on the real estate lying within the District for the benefit of which such taxes are to be expended in the maintenance of such improvements.

2.    Obtain public comment concerning the issuance of Industrial Development Revenue Bonds not to exceed $9,000,000 for the construction of a 100,000 square foot office building to house the corporate headquarters for United Unlimited Holding Corporation and its subsidiaries on the southeast corner of First South and Fifth East.

3.    Obtain public comment concerning the issuance of $3,250,000 of Industrial Development Revenue Bonds for the acquisition and construction of a surgical center facility at approximately 350 South 900 East for Salt Lake Clinic and consider.

4.    Obtain public comment and consider and adopt a resolution authorizing the issuance and sale of not to exceed $6,000,000 Industrial Development Revenue Bonds (Duplex Products, Inc. Project) Series 1985, of Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah, to finance certain facilities for use by Duplex Products, Inc.; the execution and delivery of a trust indenture to secure said bonds; the execution and delivery of a loan agreement between said company and said city providing for the repayment of the loan of the proceeds of said bonds; and related matters.
