Information Needed by Council Staff
A. Council District Newsletters for Public Utilities Mailing:
9:02:40 PM Prior to each calendar year, the Public Utilities Department identifies months for Council Members to include Council District newsletters as part of their monthly mailing. Council Members save on costs associated with mailing, but pay for printing expenses out of their communication budget. There is a limit of three Council District newsletters for each month.
Ø Council Members, please let Council staff know which month you are interested in:
o February
o March
o August
o December
The Goal is for each Council Member to have one opportunity. The deadlines are very strict on this process, since Public Utilities can’t delay the mailing of bills.
NOTE: If anyone is interested in the February newsletter, the deadline for the final draft of the newsletter to be sent the printer is January 24th.
The following members chose the month they would participate in the newsletter:
Lisa Adams
– February
Erin Mendenhall – March
Luke Garrott - March
James
Rogers – August
Kyle LaMalfa – December
Stan Penfold -
December
2014 Annual Meeting Calendar (attachment 1&2)
After reviewing the 2014 Annual Meeting Calendar are there any Council Members that would like to make any suggestions or changes?
Councilmember Penfold said he had a question on July to possibly stretching the meeting to allow more vacation time. He said there was one meeting scheduled for July 8, 2014. Councilmember Garrott said he would be gone in June.
Ms. Gust-Jenson said she would bring this topic back for discussion.

B. Council Retreat February 11th, 2014
In lieu of the Tuesday, February 11th Council Meeting and in coordination with RDA, are Council Members available in holding a Council retreat? Or does the Council have any other suggested dates in February? A portion of the retreat will be a review and discussion of Legislative Tools.
Councilmember Penfold said he did not see a problem with starting at noon but would confirm the time with RDA staff to begin the RDA meeting.
