4. 6:54:43 PM HIVE Mobile Sites
The Administration would like Council feedback on new mobile sites for the selling of HIVE passes. Past mobile sites have rotated through each library of the City, and have occurred on Saturdays and on a week night during the week. Transportation is planning another round of these mobile sales events during the month of May to support the contest. They have a few options for how to do this. One way is to do three consecutive Saturdays in a central location in the City. Council members could all drive traffic to this site. By far their best sales location (outside of the permanent locations) has been the Main Library. The second way is to schedule specific events in each district. They have provided recommendations below, based on the sites that have worked for them in the past. They are open for Council to make any suggestions, but please keep in mind that they need space, foot traffic, power, and most importantly a great internet connection. The locations and dates below are tentative.
Option 1: Main Library location:
May 10 – District 1 & 2 & 7
May 17 – District 3 & 4
May 24 - District 5 & 6
Option 2: Location at each District
May 3: Main Library / District 4
May 9: Sweet Library / District 3
May 10: Chapman Library / District 2
May 16: Sprague Library / District 7
May 17: Day-Riverside Library / District 1
May 23: Red Butte Gardens / District 6 (need to get permission, this is a new location)
May 24: Tower Theater (Open @11AM) /District 5 (need to get permission, this is a new location)
Robin Hutcheson said Anderson Library’s internet connection was not strong enough. She said they would need a great internet connection and a couple of tables. She said they planned on doing one per district or a collective three or four decided by the Council to be beneficial for all. Councilmember Luke said they would work with Council staff about possible locations.
