A. Information Needed by Council Staff
1. Two Special Assessment Areas (SAA) are due for an upcoming Board of Equalization Review – as Council staff mentioned to you in a previous announcement, a recent change in State law requires a City Council Member participant on the Board of Equalization Review. The two SAAs are:
o 900 South 900 East (Districts 4 and 5); and
o Fenway Avenue (635 S between 1200-1240 East Streets) and Strongs Court (845 East between 340-400 South Streets -- District 4)
The Administration proposes to schedule the Board of Equalization Review for both SAAs at the same time – meeting three consecutive days on:
o Tuesday, August 28, 2007 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
o Wednesday, August 29, 2007 from 5 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
o Thursday, August 30, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
All three meetings will be held at the first floor conference room at 349 South 200 East. Would Council like to designate one Council Member to attend all three meetings or would you like to designate 1-3 Council Members to each take a day?
Council Members Christensen, Love and Jergensen will attend meetings depending on their schedules. Quinn will send a reminder.
2. Proposed change in the August District One Neighborhood Outreach meeting from Council Member Christensen:
The meeting was tentatively scheduled for Thursday August 9th. Is it acceptable to the Council to:
o Change the date for the District One Neighborhood Outreach meeting from Thursday, August 9 to Tuesday, August 21?
o Hold this meeting as a District One Neighborhood Outreach meeting/formal City Council meeting?
o Hold this meeting off-site with the following schedule?
3:00 pm to 5:00 pm Council Meeting at Day Riverside Library
5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Bus Tour to Tooele Valley Airport
7:00 pm Return to Day Riverside and continue with with Council agenda
Box lunches will be provided and distributed on the bus at 5:00 pm.
