City Council Announcements

March 16, 2004

A. Decisions, Feedback & Information needed by staff

1. COG Association Board Meeting. During a previous Council Meeting, Council Members discussed attendance at the COG Association of Municipal Council Board Meeting, which is held semi-quarterly on Saturday mornings. An option was proposed that Council Members could attend on a rotating basis, rather than one Council Member being designated to the Board. The next meeting is scheduled for this Saturday, March 20 at 8:00 a.m. in South Salt Lake. Is any Council Member interested in attending?  Not discussed.

2. Council Audio on the Internet – The City’s Information Management Services Division is ready to broadcast live audio of council meetings and work sessions on the Internet.  Those wishing to listen to the broadcast via the Internet will need to have Windows Media-player on their computer.  This is a free download from Microsoft.  A link will be available on the City’s web page.  The Information Management Services Division will ensure that the audio broadcast does not start until the meeting is ready to begin.  The City Recorder for the meeting will turn the system on and off.  Is the Council okay with proceeding with live audio on the Internet?  Not discussed.

3.  Hold an extra meeting on April 1, 2004 to discuss CDBG.   Council Members Christensen & Turner wanted to discuss CDBG at a lunch.  Councilmember Buhler suggested meeting on March 25th, the 30th or April 1st.  Councilmember Love suggested that the Council get back to Cindy and let her know if April 1st at 5:00 p.m. worked.
