A. Information Needed by Council Staff
1. In a letter to Leonardo Management, dated March 18th, 2008, Council decisions about its intentions and understanding were expressed. One of the items mentioned in the letter was to have a naming rights and fundraising progress update after the June 1, 2008 deadline. Leonardo Management has been meeting with Council Members to ask for an extension of time in which to report back to the Council. According to a Salt Lake Tribune article, dated June 3, 2008, this extension has been granted for “another month or two”. A Council Member has suggested preparing a written letter or document which would document the understanding/intention of the Council to allow an additional month or two before the Leonardo briefs the Council on its Naming Rights and Fundraising progress. Does the Council wish to have Council Staff prepare a letter or document that communicates the extension of time? The majority of the Council was agreeable to the extension but wanted the letter to include language showing that the extension was made at the request of the Leonardo and that the Council was not responsible for delays.
