A. Decisions, Feedback & Information needed by staff

1. Legislative Breakfast: City Council staff still is working toward organizing a breakfast with Salt Lake City legislators either on December 19 or January 9. To date five legislators have indicated that either date would work to some degree. Six legislators have yet to respond and may require a second contact. One legislator indicated a strong preference for December 19. That legislator also has suggested that the breakfast be combined to include other elected officials and the Salt Lake City School District superintendent. Is there any preference among Council Members for including other elected officials and the school superintendent?  Council Members did not want the School District to attend.  They were in favor of inviting members of the Administration.    Council Members were in favor of January 9, 2004.

2. Urban Land Institute Final Report -- Downtown Retail Alternatives

The Urban Land Institute has delivered its final report on downtown retail alternatives. The report is the same one that was included in City Council packets in October when the Council considered changing the Zoning Ordinance to allow a large-scale high fashion retail department store in the Gateway Mixed Use District. The differences between the report in the October City Council packet and ULI's final report are the report is bound and contains a downtown map. The report may be a worthwhile for future reference. Copies are available if Council Members would like one.   Ms. Gust-Jenson said a final version of the report was available.
