SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE

No. 83 of 2001

(Amending the City-Wide Transportation

Master Plan of 1996)

 

      AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY-WIDE TRANSPORTATION MASTER PLAN OF 1996, PURSUANT TO SECTION 10-9-303, UTAH CODE ANNOTATED.

      WHEREAS, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, has held public hearings before its own body and before the Planning Commission as required by Section 10-9-301 to 304, Utah Code Annotated, in response to Petition No. 400-01-57; and

      WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is appropriate under Section 10-9-301, et seq., Utah Code Annotated, and in the best interest of the City to amend the City-Wide Transportation Master Plan of 1996, as previously adopted in Ordinance 19 of 1996, specifically as to the Major Street Plan Map;

      NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:

      SECTION 1. That the City-Wide Transportation Master Plan, previously recommended for adoption by the Salt Lake City Planning Commission on March 7, 1996, is hereby amended, pursuant to Section 10-9-303, Utah Code Annotated in that the proposed western extension of Amelia Earhart Drive (approx. 350 North), west of John Glenn Road (6070 West) is deleted as a proposed arterial street.  The City Recorder is hereby directed to retain three certified copies of the Amended Major Street Plan Map portions of the City-Wide Transportation Master Plan, which is hereby incorporated by reference, for the public record.

      SECTION 2. Effective Date.  This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its first publication and the City Recorder is instructed to record this ordinance and a copy of the amended Major Street Plan Map, with the Salt Lake County Recorder. 

      Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, this 11th day of December, 2001.
