SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE

No. 73 of 2000

(Rezoning Properties in the Sugarhouse Area Located between

Lincoln Street and 1100 East and between

Downington Avenue and 2100 South)

 

      AN ORDINANCE REZONING PROPERTIES IN THE SUGARHOUSE AREA LOCATED BETWEEN LINCOLN STREET AND 1100 EAST AND BETWEEN DOWNINGTON AVENUE AND 2100 SOUTH, PURSUANT TO PETITION NO. 400-00-14.

      WHEREAS, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, has held public hearings before its own body and before the Planning Commission, and has taken into consideration citizen testimony, filing and demographic details of the area, the long range general plans of the City, and any local master plans as part of its deliberations.  Pursuant to these deliberations, the City Council has concluded that the proposed change of zoning for certain properties located in the Sugarhouse area is appropriate for the development of the community in that area.

      NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:

      SECTION 1.  The properties identified as Area No. 1, located between Downington Avenue and Hollywood Avenue, and between 1000 and 1100 East, which are more particularly described on Exhibit “A” attached hereto, shall be and hereby are rezoned from RMF-35 Moderate Density Multi-Family Residential to R-1-5000 Single-Family Residential.

      SECTION 2.  The properties identified as Area No. 2, between Ramona Avenue and Hollywood Avenue, and between McClelland Street and 1100 East, which are more particularly described on Exhibit “A” attached hereto, shall be and hereby are rezoned from CB Commercial Business to RB Residential/Business.

      SECTION 3.  The properties identified as Area No. 3, located between Hollywood Avenue and 2100 South, and between Lincoln Street and 1100 East, which are more particularly described on Exhibit “A” attached hereto, shall be and hereby are rezoned from RMF-35 Moderate Density Multi-Family Residential to R-1-5000 Single-Family Residential.

      SECTION 4.  Amendment of zoning map.  The Salt Lake City zoning map, as adopted by the Salt Lake City Code, relating to the fixing of boundaries and zoning districts, shall be and hereby is amended consistent with the rezoning identified above.

      SECTION 5.  Amendment of master plan.  To the extent necessary, the Sugarhouse Community Future Land Use Plan, as previously adopted by the Salt Lake City Council, shall be and hereby is amended consistent with the rezoning identified above.

      SECTION 6.  Effective Date.  This ordinance shall become effective on the date of its first publication and shall be recorded with the Salt Lake County Recorder.
