SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE

No. 2 of 2002.

 

(Modifying the Allowed Uses in Neighborhood Commercial Districts)

 

      AN ORDINANCE MODIFYING THE ALLOWED USES IN NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL (CN) DISTRICTS, PURSUANT TO PETITION NO. 400-01-35.

      WHEREAS, the Salt Lake City Zoning Code contains a table of permitted and conditional uses for various commercials districts; and

      WHEREAS, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, finds after public hearings before its own body and before the Planning Commission that the Table of Permitted and Conditional Uses which relate to the Neighborhood Commercial (CN) zoning district should be modified to allow for veterinary offices as conditional uses in such districts, and that such modification is in the best interest of the City;

      NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:

      SECTION 1.  The table entitled “Table of Permitted and Conditional Uses for Commercial Districts,” located at Section 21A.26.080 of the Salt Lake City Code, shall be and hereby is amended to read as set forth on Exhibit A attached hereto.

      SECTION 2.  Section 21A.62.040 of the Salt Lake City Code shall be and hereby is amended to include the following definitions in alphabetical order:

      Veterinary Office, Large:  “Large Veterinary Office” means a veterinary facility that serves large animals, either wild or domesticated, such as sheep, goats, cows, pigs, horses, llamas, wild cats, bears or other similarly sized animals.

 

      Veterinary Office, Small:  “Small Veterinary Office” means a veterinary facility that serves only small animals such as dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, reptiles, rodents and other similarly sized animals.

 

SECTION 3.  Effective Date.  This ordinance shall become effective on the date of its first publication.

      Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, this 15th day of January, 2002.
