SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE

No. 78 of 1998

 

(Rezoning certain properties located East of Beck Street, pursuant to Petition No. 400-97-72.)

 

      AN ORDINANCE REZONING CERTAIN PROPERTIES LOCATED EAST OF BECK STREET FROM EXTRACTIVE INDUSTRIES (EI) TO OPEN SPACE (OS) AND FROM OPEN SPACE (OS) TO EXTRACTIVE INDUSTRIES (EI), PURSUANT TO PETITION NO. 400-97-72.

      WHEREAS, the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah has held public hearings before its own body and before the Planning Commission, and has taken into consideration citizen testimony, filing and demographic details of the area, the long range General Plan for the City, and any local Master Plan as part of its deliberation.  Pursuant to these deliberations, the Council has concluded that the proposed change of zoning for certain properties located East of Beck Street is appropriate for the development of the community in that area.

      NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:

      SECTION 1.  That the properties located East of Beck Street, as shown in the map attached hereto as Exhibit “A,” and which are more particularly described on Exhibit “B” attached hereto, shall be and hereby are rezoned from Extractive Industries (EI) to Open Space (OS).

      SECTION 2. The properties located East of Beck Street, as shown in the map attached hereto as Exhibit “A,” and which are more particularly described on Exhibit “C” attached hereto, shall be and hereby are rezoned from Open Space (OS) to Extractive Industries (EI).

      SECTION 3.  AMENDMENT OF ZONING MAP.  The Salt Lake City Zoning Map, as adopted by the Salt Lake City Code, relating to the fixing of boundaries and zoning districts, shall be, and hereby is amended consistent with the zoning identified above.

      SECTION 4.  EFFECTIVE DATE.  This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon the date of its being first published and recorded with the Salt Lake County Recorder.      Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, this 21st day of September, 1998.
