SALT LAKE CITY ORDINANCE
No. 56 of 1999
(Amending Sections 17.16.670 and 17.16.680 of the Salt Lake City Code, relating to water rates)
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 17.16.670 and 17.16.680, SALT LAKE CITY CODE, RELATING TO WATER RATES.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. Table 17.16.670 of Section 17.16.670 of the Salt Lake City Code is hereby amended in its entirety to read as follows for the effective dates July 1, 1998 through June 30, 1999; July 1, 1999 through June 30, 2000; July 1, 2000 through June 30, 2001; and July 1, 2001 and thereafter until further amended, as indicated:

SECTION 2. Section 17.16.680 of the Salt Lake City Code is hereby amended in its entirety to read as follows for the effective dates July 1, 1998 through June 30, 1999; July 1, 1999 through June 30, 2000; July 1, 2000 through June 30, 2001; and July 1, 2001 and thereafter until further amended, as indicated:
17.16.680 Meter rates.
[Effective July 1, 1998 through June 30, 1999]
The rates for water supplied through meters to all places, after the minimum charges for the first five hundred cubic feet of water specified in Section 17.16.670, or its successor, will be as follows:
A. Inside the corporate limits of the city, forty-seven cents per one hundred cubic feet of water served through each service connection during the months of October through May, and seventy-two cents per one hundred cubic feet of water served through each service connection during the months of June through September.
B. Outside the corporate limits of the city, seventy cents per one hundred cubic feet of water served through each service connection during the months of October through May, and one dollar and eight cents per hundred cubic feet of water served through each service connection during the months of June through September.
C. Rate payers which are granted an abatement for taxes on their dwelling under Section 59-2-1106 through 1108, Utah Code Annotated, or successor provisions, shall be granted a three dollars and sixteen cent abatement of the minimum monthly charge under Section 17.16.670 hereof or its successor.

A. Inside the corporate limits of the city, fifty-one cents per one hundred cubic feet of water served through each service connection during the months of October through May, and seventy-eight cents per one hundred cubic feet of water served through each service connection during the months of June through September.
B. Outside the corporate limits of the city, seventy-six cents per one hundred cubic feet of water served through each service connection during the months of October through May, and one dollar and seventeen cents per hundred cubic feet of water served through each service connection during the months of June through September.
C. Rate payers which are granted an abatement for taxes on their dwelling under Section 59-2-1106 through 1108, Utah Code Annotated, or successor provisions, shall be granted a three dollars and fifty-three cent abatement of the minimum monthly charge under Section 17.16.670 hereof or its successor. [Effective July 1, 2000 through June 30, 2001]
The rates for water supplied through meters to all places, after the minimum charges for the first five hundred cubic feet of water specified in Section 17.16.670, or its successor, will be as follows:
A. Inside the corporate limits of the city, fifty-five cents per one hundred cubic feet of water served through each service connection during the months of October through May, and eighty-three cents per one hundred cubic feet of water served through each service connection during the months of June through September.
B. Outside the corporate limits of the city, eighty-one cents per one hundred cubic feet of water served through each service connection during the months of October through May, and one dollar and twenty-five cents per hundred cubic feet of water served through each service connection during the months of June through September.
C. Rate payers which are granted an abatement for taxes on their dwelling under Section 59-2-1106 through 1108, Utah Code Annotated, or successor provisions, shall be granted a three dollars and seventy-eight cent abatement of the minimum monthly charge under Section 17.16.670 hereof or its successor. A. Inside the corporate limits of the city, fifty-nine cents per one hundred cubic feet of water served through each service connection during the months of October through May, and eighty-nine cents per one hundred cubic feet of water served through each service connection during the months of June through September.
B. Outside the corporate limits of the city, eighty-seven cents per one hundred cubic feet of water served through each service connection during the months of October through May, and one dollar and thirty-four cents per hundred cubic feet of water served through each service connection during the months of June through September.
C. Rate payers which are granted an abatement for taxes on their dwelling under Section 59-2-1106 through 1108, Utah Code Annotated, or successor provisions, shall be granted a four dollars and four cent abatement of the minimum monthly charge under Section 17.16.670 hereof or its successor.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its first publication.
