THE CITY COUNCIL OF SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, MET IN REGULAR SESSION ON TUESDAY, MARCH 26, 1985, AT 6:45 P.M. AT EMERSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 1017 EAST HARRISON AVENUE.
THE FOLLOWING COUNCIL MEMBERS WERE PRESENT: RONALD J. WHITEHEAD EARL F. HARDWICK GRANT MABEY THOMAS M. GODFREY SYDNEY R. FONNESBECK EDWARD W. PARKER.
A vacancy exists in Council District #6 due to the death of Councilmember Davis on February 26, 1985.
Albert Haines, chief administrative officer, was present at the meeting. Mayor Ted L. Wilson, Roger Cutler, city attorney, Kathryn Marshall, city recorder, and Lynda Domino, chief deputy recorder, were absent from the meeting.
Council Chairperson Sydney Fonnesbeck presided at and conducted the meeting.
PETITIONS
Petition 400-237 of 1984 by the Boyer Company.
RE: Finalizing Street closures approved by the Salt Lake City Council on February 19, 1985, involving portions of Winifred Street, Gertie Avenue, Lorenzo Street, Buckeye Street, 300 North and an associated alley.
Councilmember Whitehead moved and Councilmember Fonnesbeck seconded to adopt Ordinance 20 of 1985, as amended, providing for the closure and transfer of certain public streets, to wit: Winifred Street, Lorenzo Street, Buckeye Avenue, 300 North Street and an associated alley all located within Chas S. Desky’s Fifth Addition, a subdivision of Southeast 1/4 - Southwest 1/4, Section 34, T.l N., R.l W., S.L.B. & M.; and further providing for the payment of approximately $25,000 for the transfer of said streets, which, in addition to an agreement to dedicate certain improved roads to Salt Lake City and grant an easement for a sewer line to Salt Lake City, represents the fair market value of said public streets. Also accept this action as notice under terms of the surplus property ordinance, which motion carried, all members voting aye.
