The City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, met in Regular Session on Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. in Room 315, City Council Chambers, City County Building, 451 South State.
The following Council Members were present:

Cindy Gust-Jenson, Executive Council Director; Edwin Rutan, City Attorney; David Everitt, Mayor’s Chief of Staff; and Scott Crandall, Deputy City Recorder; were present.
Councilmember Love presided at and conducted the meeting.
OPENING CEREMONY
#1. 7:05:09 PM The Council led the Pledge of Allegiance.
#2. 7:05:34 PM Councilmember Turner moved and Councilmember Christensen seconded to approve the minutes of the Salt Lake City Council meeting held January 15, 2008, which motion carried, all members present voted aye.

COMMENTS TO THE CITY COUNCIL 7:06:40 PM
Cindy Cromer spoke concerning various aspects of land use planning such as performance, transit corridor, and formula free zoning and acreage requirements for planned unit developments. Councilmember Jergensen asked Ms. Cromer to send written comments to the Council and Administration.
Douglas Cotant spoke concerning the need to remove snow from train tracks and sidewalks.
Jim Garside submitted written comments and spoke concerning water rate increases, wasteful expenses, unsound water policies, ongoing lawsuits and maintaining an unhealthy monopoly.
CONSENT AGENDA 7:13:56 PM
Councilmember Jergensen moved and Councilmember Turner seconded to approve the Consent Agenda, which motion carried, all members present voted aye.
