        1.       Canvass of Municipal Primary Election

                The City Council will convene as the Board of Canvassers at their regular meeting place to consider adopting a motion accepting the City Recorder's statement from the abstract of the votes constituting the canvass of the Primary Election held October 3, 1995 for Mayor and Councilmembers in Council Districts 2 and 6.

                                        Staff Recommendation:   Recess as City Council, Convene with the Mayor as the Board of Canvassers, Adopt Motion, Recess as Board of Canvassers, Reconvene as City Council.

 

        2.       Resolution:  Salt Lake City Lighting District No.2

                        Consider adopting a resolution to create Salt Lake City, Utah Lighting District No. 2, as described in the Notice of Intention concerning the District; authorizing the City officials to proceed to make improvements as set forth in the Notice of Intention to create and operate the District; and related matters.

                                        Staff Recommendation:   Consider adopting following hearing (item G2).

 

        3.       Resolution:  Board of Equalization   (Lighting District No. 2)

                Consider adopting a resolution authorizing the City officials to proceed to operate and maintain lighting facilities as set forth in the Notice of Intention to create and operate the Salt Lake City Lighting District No. 2; authorizing execution of a contract with Utah Power and Light Co. for operating, patrolling and maintaining street lighting within the District; appointing a Board of Equalization and review and setting the dates for the Board of Equalization to hear and consider objections and corrections to any proposed assessments; and authorizing the City Recorder to publish and mail a Notice of Meetings of the Board of Equalization and review; and related matters.

G.    PUBLIC HEARINGS:

        1.       Ordinance:  Citizen Participation

                Accept public comment and consider adopting an ordinance amending Chapter 2.60 dealing with recognition of neighborhood-based organizations.

                                        Staff Recommendation:   Accept comment, continue hearing to November 21, 1995 to allow time for community review of most recent draft and/or subsequent draft prepared based on comments at this hearing.

        2.       Salt Lake City Lighting District    (Transportation Division)

                Accept public comment, consider all protests filed and hear all objections relating to the proposed Salt Lake City Lighting District No. 2.

        3.       Ordinance:  Salt Lake City Code: Regulating Signs   (Planning Division)

                Accept public comment and consider adopting an ordinance relating to Chapter 23 to Title 21A of the Salt Lake City Code relating to regulating signs.

        4.       Ordinance:  Salt Lake City Traffic Code Amendment

                Accept public comment and consider adopting an ordinance relating to a traffic code amendment which identifies the civil penalty for recreational vehicles stored illegally on public streets.
