D.          CONSENT:

 

1.    Petition No. 400-305 R.J.H. Company.

Consider and adopt an ordinance amending Section 51-12-2 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, as amended, relating to zoning and fixing of boundaries of use districts; rezoning Buena Vista II area located at approximately 2700 West 500 South from an Agricultural “A-1” to an Industrial “M-1a” classification as requested in Petition No. 400-305 submitted by R.J.H. Company.

2.    Petition No. 400-283, A.Z. Richards, Jr.

Consider and adopt an ordinance amending Section 51-12-2 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, as amended, relating to zoning and fixing of boundaries of use districts; rezoning Buena Vista I area located between 7th and 9th South and Gladiola Street at approximately 2640 West from an Agricultural “A-1” to an Industrial “M-1a” classification as requested in Petition No. 400-283 submitted by A.Z. Richards, Jr.

3.    Petition No. 400-306, Hooper Knowlton, Devonshire Place.

Set a date for a public hearing to be held Tuesday, April 1, 1986 at 6:30 p.m. to obtain public comment concerning Petition No. 400-306 submitted by Hooper Knowlton requesting Salt Lake City to annex a portion of the proposed Devonshire Place Subdivision at approximately 1750 South and 3000 East.

E.          NEW COUNCIL BUSINESS:

 

1.    Special Improvement District No. 1313.

Consider and adopt a resolution declaring the intention of the City Council of Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, State of Utah, to construct improvements on certain streets within said municipality consisting of the construction of 12 inch and 7 inch main sewer pipelines and 8 inch and 6 inch water pipelines and all other miscellaneous work necessary to complete the improvements in a proper workmanlike manner; to create Salt Lake City, Utah, Public Utilities Water and Sewer Project No. 50-1313 to defray the cost and expenses of said Improvement District by Special Assessments to be levied against the property benefited by such improvements; and to provide Notice of Intention to authorize such improvements and to fix a time and place for protests against such improvements or the creation of said district; and to authorize advertisement of construction bids.

                                                        on first reading.

 

2.    Sugar House Park Authority Board Appointment.

Consider and approve the appointment of Dr. Edward W. Parker to the Sugar House Park Authority Board.

3.    Jail Property Land Transaction.

Consider and adopt a motion waiving the requirements of Section 33-1-66 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, as amended, (to avoid delay that would mean a serious detriment to the social interests of the community) as it pertains to the agreement between the city and county for exchange of property and cash for the city-owned property necessary for the county to expand its jail.

G.          PUBLIC HEARINGS:

 

1.    Petition No. 400-277 (Highland Drive Neighborhood), Sugar House Community Council. - 6:45 p.m.

Obtain public comment concerning Petition No. 400-277 (Highland Drive Neighborhood), submitted by the Sugar House Community Council requesting the rezoning of all existing Residential “R-4” to “R-2”, of all existing “R-6” to “R-5”, some existing business “B-3” to Residential “R-5” and “R-2”, some existing Residential “R-5 to “R-2” and existing Commercial “C-2” to Residential “R-5” in an area bordered by Interstate-80 and 2700 South along both sides of Highland Drive and along 2700 South between 1100 East and Highland Drive.

Staff Recommendation:         Close hearing. Approve rezoning as recommended by the Planning Comm., direct City Attorney to prepare ordinance.

 

2.    Petition No. 400-381, S. Whitfield Lee.- 7:00 p.m.

Obtain public comment concerning Petition No. 400-381 submitted by S. Whitfield Lee requesting Salt Lake City to rezone property located on the north side of 1300 South between Foothill Boulevard and Wasatch Drive from a Residential “R-2 to a Residential “R-1” classification.

Staff Recommendation:   Close hearing. Approve rezoning as recommended  by the Planning Comm., direct City Attorney to prepare ordinance.

 

3.    City and County Building Restoration. - 7:15 p.m.

Obtain public comment concerning restoration of the City and County Building, and consider and adopt a resolution stating the intention of the Salt Lake City Council concerning the disposition of the City and County Building.
