2.  The Council will consider adopting a motion to enter into Executive Session, in keeping with the Utah Code, to discuss labor negotiations.

3.  The Council will interview Nafetalai 'Unga Kioa prior to consideration of his appointment to the Salt Lake City Library Board.

4.  The Council will interview Mary E. House prior to consideration of her appointment to the Salt Lake City Library Board.

1.  Board Appointment:  Nafetalai 'Unga Kioa, Salt Lake City Library Board
Consider approving the appointment of Nafetalai 'Unga Kioa to the Salt Lake City Library Board for a term extending through June 30, 1997.

Consider approving the appointment of Mary E. House to the Salt Lake City Library Board for a term extending through June 30, 1996.

Board Reappointment:  Patricia A. Richards, Public Utilities Advisory Committee
Consider approving the reappointment of Patricia A. Richards to the Public Utilities Advisory Committee for a term extending through December 31, 1999.

     Staff Recommendation:   Approve.

2.  Ordinance:  Set Date  Citizen Participation
Set date of May 14, 1996, to accept public comment and consider adopting an ordinance amending Chapter 2.60 dealing with recognition of neighborhood-based organizations.

3.  Motion:    (S.L.C. Planning Division)
Consider adopting a motion approving the following decisions made by the Planning Director:

Subdivision Plat Vacation for the Holmes and Henderson Subdivision at 50 South Orange Street:  Conditional use approval of the Diamond Parking planned development was subject to vacation of the Holmes and Henderson Subdivision, an old residential subdivision at 50 South Orange Street that was never developed.  All streets within the subdivision boundary were vacated some time ago.  Planning Director's Decision:  Approve subject to meeting all City departmental concerns.  (P 96-33)

     Staff Recommendation:   Approve.

1.  Ordinance:  Offenses Pertaining to Property
Consider adopting an ordinance adding section 11.36.160, to the Salt Lake City Code, relating to manufacture or possession of instrument for burglary or theft, vandalism, or destruction of property.

     Staff Recommendation:   Adopt.

 

G.      PUBLIC HEARING:

1.  Protest Hearing:  Lighting District #1    (Division of Transportation) 
Accept public comment and consider all protests filed and hear all objections relating to the proposed Salt Lake City Lighting District No. 1.

        Staff Recommendation:   Close and refer to the Division of Transportation for                                            tabulation.

2.  Ordinance: Petition No. 400-95-74  (2604 and 2610 McClelland Streets)
Accept public comment and consider adopting an ordinance amending Lots 8 and 9 of the Valley View Subdivision plat.

     Staff Recommendation:   Refer to the May 7, 1996 Council meeting.


3.  Ordinance:  Petition No. 400-95-51     (Housing Authority of Salt Lake City)
Accept public comment and consider adopting an ordinance vacating a portion of an alley between Hayes Avenue and American Avenue and between Emery Street and 1100 West.

     Staff Recommendation:   Close and adopt.

4.  Ordinance:    (Salt Lake City Department of Public Services)
Accept public comment and consider adopting an ordinance regarding the proposed Salt Lake City Transportation Master Plan.

     Staff Recommendation:   Close and refer to the April 16, 1996 Council meeting.

5.  Ordinance:  Petition No. 400-96-1   (Salt Lake City Planning Division)
Accept public comment and consider adopting an ordinance rezoning property located on the block between 300 and 400 North and between 500 and 600 West in Salt Lake City.
