AGENDA ITEMS

I.   The Council will interview Michael F. Jones prior to consideration of his appointment to the Board of Adjustment.  (Estimated time:  5 minutes)

II.  The Council will receive an update regarding issues at the 1999 legislative session (tentative). (Estimated time:  5 minutes)

III. The Council will receive a briefing regarding PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Management Letter for the year ended June 30, 1998.  (Estimated time:  10 minutes)

IV. The Council will receive a briefing regarding Petition No. 400-98-46, a request by Thomas and Christine Meiser, to vacate an alley located between Bryan (1560 South) and Logan (1625 South) Avenues, from 1500 to 1600 East, pursuant to Petition No. 400-98-46.  (Estimated time:  5 minutes)

V.  The Council will receive a briefing regarding Petition No. 400-98-55, a request by Mike Wasiloff, to vacate an alley located between Hollywood (1955 South) and Redondo (1995 South) Avenues and between 600 and 700 East, pursuant to Petition No. 400-98-55.  (Estimated time:  5 minutes)

VI. The Council will receive a briefing regarding Petition No. 400-98-70, a request to rezone portions of the Arcadia Heights Indian Rock and Scenic Heights Subdivisions, from SR-1 and R-1-12,000 to FR-3, pursuant to Petition No. 400-98-37.  (Estimated time:  10 minutes)

VII.  The Council will hold a discussion regarding the Council’s labor policy and a proposed labor protocol agreement with the Administration.  (Estimated time:  5 minutes)

VIII.    The Council will consider adopting a motion to enter into Executive Session, in keeping with Utah Code, to discuss

            labor negotiations (tentative).  (Estimated time:  5 minutes)

IX. The Council will receive a briefing from the Administration on issues relating to the intermodal hub, removal of the railroad tracks near the viaducts and related items.  The briefing will include information on funds currently available, appropriations needed, contractual deadlines and obligations, and funding options.  The Council will discuss establishing an enterprise fund and may elect to consider preparing a letter to the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) and other organizations expressing the City's intentions relating to these matters.   (Estimated time:   20 minutes)

X.  The Council will consider adopting a motion to enter into Executive Session, in keeping with Utah Code, to discuss property negotiations.  (Estimated time:  20 minutes)
